INDIA, British, EIC, Madras Presidency, pattern rupee AH1268, yr 13 of Queen Victoria's reign, (1851) in Persian-Arabic characters, Chinapatan (old name for Madras) mint struck in white metal with straight grained or milled edge. Uncirculated, excessively rare and unpublished.

Ex E.Wodak Collection (per J.G.Gartner, in Geoff K.Gray sale 11th June 1971, lot 312) and Mark E.Freehill Collection, an almost identical specimen but plain edge was in the same auction as lot 313.
