INDIA, Medieval (Eastern Deccan), Nayakas of Chitradurga, probably under Madakeri Nayaka I Kasturi Rangappa Nayaka, (1562-1652), gold pagoda, (3.23 g), in the name and types of Krishna devaraya of Vijayanagar c.1600 or slightly later,s obv. Balakrishna seated facing, legs to left all beneath a canopy, rev. three line Nagari legend, "Sri Pra - tapa krishna - raya", (M. [South India] 881, M.937). Very fine, rare.
