INDIA, Native State, Awadh, in the name of Shah Alam II, (A.H. 1173-1221, A.D. 1759-1806), silver broad Nazarana rupee, Banaras Mint AH 1183/11 (1769-1770), (KM.37, cat $5000 VF). Grey and red patina, good very fine, very rare.

Ex Dr V.J.A. Flynn Collection.

Banaras was for for a period placed under the control of the Mogul Subahdar of Awadh.
