BOARD OF TRADE FOR SEA GALLANTRY (VR), in silver (58mm) by B.Wyon, obverse, laureate bust of Victoria, left, reverse, three men and a woman holding a child upon a raft in rough seas, a lifeboat in the distance (Eimer 1503), engraved around edge 'Kenneth Finlayson Wreck of the S.S.'Douro' on the 20th November 1887'. With three minor edge nicks, otherwise extremely fine.

Awarded posthumously to Kenneth Finlayson, Boatswain on the SS 'Douro'which sank on 20th November 1887. Finlayson died of injuries sustained in the rescue.
