INDIA, Post-Mauryan (Punjab) Kunindas, Amoghabuti (c.150-80 B.C.), silver drachm, 17mm, (2.41 g), obv. legend in Brahmi (Great King Amoghabhuti of the Kunindas), deer standing right with raised head, to right goddess Lakshmi standing facing, holding long-stemmed lotus in her right hand and placing left on hip, rev. same as obverse legend, six-arched hill with triatana above, swastika and split standard (Indra-dhvaja) on the left and tree in railing to right, serpent or wave symbol below, (JONS 218, fig.42, AICR 1144, HGC 12, 850). Toned, good very fine, rare.

The Kunindas were a native Indian dynasty on the foothills of the Himalayas. Their coinage showing a standing deer next to Lakshmi (the goddess of wealth, knowledge and spiritual enlightenment)
