GROUP OF FOUR: Queen's South Africa Medal 1899, (type 2 reverse with clear ghost dates), - three clasps - Cape Colony, Transvaal, South Africa 1902; 1914-15 Star; British War Medal 1914-18; Victory Medal 1914-19. 7475 Pte. A.Pike. Grenadier Guards. on first medal, 22412 Pte. A.J.Pike. R.A.M.C. on last three medals. All medals impressed. Display mounted on cardboard sheet with printed details, toned very fine - extremely fine.

Together with City of Bristol Asylum Medal for Proficiency in Mental Nursing, reverse inscribed, 'John Alfred (sic, name order wrong)Pike/May, 1907.'; St John Ambulance Association Re-Examination Medallion in silver (Fourth issue type), reverse inscribed, '102120/Alfred J.Pike'; both medals with pin-back suspenders.

Alfred John Pike's medal and clasp entitlements confirmed. In WWI he disembarked 15 Nov1915 for service in the Balkan's theatre of war. During WWI the Bristol Lunatic Asylum where Alfred Pike worked prior to his war service was converted to Fishponds Military Hospital.
