AKARNANIA, Thyrrheion, silver stater, (168-160 B.C.), (10.02 g), obv. human-faced, bull-headed river god Acheloos to right, behind **MENANDROS*, rev. Apollo Aktios seated on a stone throne to right with drawn bow, in the field to left **QURREIWN*, to right a monogram of MK, (S.2303, SNG Cop. 417, Imhoof-Blumer A 175, 21, BCD 393 [same reverse die], BCD 395.2 (This Coin) (M&M 23 Germany, 18 October 2007). Good very fine, trace of hoard patination, very rare.
