BOEOTIA, Thebes, (363-338 B.C.), magistrate Theog.., silver stater, (12.06 g), obv. Boiotian shield, rev. amphora in concave field, with letters **QE OG* either side, caduceus above, (cf.S.2398, Hepworth Series B1, No.58, BCD 503 same reverse die, Traite III 267, Pozzi 1441, BMC 145 (p.83), McClean 5600, SNG Cop 338). Nearly extremely fine, struck on good metal and a very scarce type.
