CARIA, Satraps of Caria, Hecatomnos, (c.395-377 B.C.), silver drachm (4.21 g), obv. forepart of lion to left, with open jaws, its foreleg to right, beneath nose [EKA], rev. star ornament or stellate pattern in incuse circle, (S.4951, BMC 37-41 [p.450], SNG Cop.588-589, SNG von Aulock 2356, ACNAC Dewing 2375). Nearly very fine, rare.

Ex Downie's, Classical lists 37 March 1991 (No.18) and 38 June 1991 (no.28) at $225, bought November 6, 1992.
