TASMANIA, bill of exchange dated 10 May 1889 for twelve pounds sterling to Mr David John, Farmer, Duck River, with embossed Tasmania stamp duty of one shilling and inked stamps of The National Bank Limited, Stanley, The National Bank of Tasmania, Launceston with 31488 written inside stamp, and The National Bank of Tasmania Limited, Launceston dated 3 Aug 1889, signed on front and back by issuer; also Commonwealth of Australia, Coupon-Response International, 4d. with 4 crossed out and 7 written, stamped Huonville Tas 23Ap36. The first with a few very small holes and a small split near centre left edge and at top edge, both with folds and age toning, otherwise fine. (2)
