JONES MEMORIAL MEDAL, (1907), in gilt bronze (32mm), by Amor, reverse inscribed, 'Elsie/Young/Reilly/1907'. In case of issue by W.J.Amor, some light hairlines, otherwise good extremely fine.

The Jones Memorial Medal was established to perpetuate the memory of Mr. J.S.Jones, Metropolitan Inspector of Schools. It was first presented in 1887. Each year the medals were awarded to the best pupil teachers. In 1907 there were two recipients, one of these was Miss Elsie Young Reilly of William Street School, Darlinghurst, Sydney, NSW.
