CENTRAL AFRICA, Nyassa Company, 20 reis, 1894 H, in bronze, same legend both sides (see Sweeney p.189) (Hern 394c). Red and brown uncirculated and extremely rare.

Ex Heaton Mint, Birmingham, R.J.Ford (lot 404). "In 1894 the Company of Nyassa was given a charter by the Lisbon Government to administer the Northern end of Mozambique, Nyassa and Cabo Delgado being the Northernmost provinces. No further issues were struck, despite the fact that the charter remained in force until 1929" (P.D.Mitchell in the Ford Sale catalogue, footnote to lot 402), W.J.Noble Sale 61B (lot 1640) and Mark E.Freehill Collections.
