SOUTH AFRICA, Port Elizabeth, Guthrie and Co, cartage contractors to the railway and harbour, worker's tally in brass, uniface (T.C75; M.511) (Hern 258a) another but with stars instead of roses as dividers (M.512)(illus) undated but circa 1903. Fine - very fine. (2)

Ex W.J.Noble Sale 61B (lot 1595) and Mark E.Freehill Collections. The first ex Spink Sale 96 (lot 370 part), the second ex R.J.Ford (lot 910 part) Collection. This firm had a branch at Uitenhage (see lot (1111) for Cape Railway Co. tallies).
