SICILY, Galaria, (c.460-450 B.C.), electrotype of the silver litra, (0.61 g), obv. Zeus Soter seated to left, holding sceptre upon which sits and eagle left around **S OTE R*, rev. Dionysos standing to left holding a kantharos and grapes **GA LA* around, (S.784 [This coin illustrated], BMC 1, HGC 2, 331, SNG ANS 1). Nearly extremely fine, rare.

A superb original electrotype by Robert Ready (1857-1914) from the British Museum example.
