THRACE, Maroneia, (c.189 - 48/45 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.16 g), obv. head of young Dionysos to right, wreathed with ivy and band across forehead, rev. Dionysos naked standing to left, holding grapes and two narthex wands, to right **DIONUSOU*, to left **SWTHROS, below **MAPWNITWN, monograms to left and right below, (cf.S.1635, Schonert-Geiss (1987), No.1044 [dies obv.25/rev.64], SNG Cop.-, HGC 3/II, 1556). Large flan, good very fine and very rare for monograms.
