MACEDON, Kingdom of, Alexander III, (336-323 B.C.), silver drachm, (3.83 g), uncertain (Miletus obv. style), mint, obv. head of Herakles to right wearing lion skin with dotted border, rev. Zeus Aetophoros seated on throne to left, eagle in outstretched hand, to left monogram, to right **ALEXANDROU*, (cf.S.6730). Attractively toned, porous surface, otherwise very fine.
