MACEDON, kingdom of, Alexander III, (336-323 B.C.), AE 16, (6.20 g), uncertain mint probably Amphipolis, obv. head of young Herakles to right, wearing lion skin, border of dots, rev. **ALEXANDRO* across, bow in bowcase below, club to right above with a >E monogram above, (S.6739, Price 316, SNG Cop. 1044, SNG Alpha Bank 730-733, HGC 3, 925a). Dark brown patination, good very fine/nearly extremely fine. $S Ex William B. Porter Collection (with his descriptive ticket) from CNG Triton VII, January 13-14, 2004 (lot 1327 part).
