SELEUKID EMPIRE, Seleukos I Nikator, (312-281 B.C.), in the name and type of Alexander III (336-323 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.96 g), uncertain mint, issued 312-281 B.C., obv. head of Herakles to right wearing lion skin, dotted border, rev. Zeus Aetophoros seated on throne to left, eagle in outstretched hand, **ALEXANDROU* to right, **D* to left in left field, **QE* under throne, (cf.S.6713, Price 3786, SC 295, HGC 9, 10h[R3]). Toned, banker's mark on reverse, fine, extremely rare.
