SASANIAN KING, Vahram V, (A.D. 421-438), silver drachm, (4.12 g), mint of GU (Gurgan), obv. text in Pahlavi, crowned and cuirassed bust right, wearing mural crown over crescent and korymbos, rev. "Fire of Shahpur" in Pahlavi (crude), fire altar with head of Vahram right on shaft, flanked by attendants, (Sellwood 45, SNS Type Ia/2 [Pl.63, A17)], Karlsson D21, Gobl type I/2, cf.illustration 157, Sunrise 920). Lightly toned, as struck good extremely fine, scarce.
