EGYPT, Kingdom of, Ptolemy III, (246-222 B.C.), silver tetradrachm (Lorber describes as a stater), (14.08 g), Ake-Ptolemais mint, issued year 2 (B) = 246/245 B.C, obv. head of Ptolemy I to right wearing aegis around neck, dotted border, rev. eagle to left with closed wings, standing on thunderbolt, in front monograms of **PI/ME* to right B/A, plain between legs around **PTOLEMAIOU SWTHROS*, (S.7811, CTE 857, Sv.1035 [Pl.XXXII, 13], SNG Cop -). Bright, very fine/nearly extremely fine and rare.
