C. VIBIUS VARUS, (42 B.C.), silver denarius, Rome mint, (3.92 g), obv. bust of Minerva, wearing helmet an aegis to right, rev. C. VIBIVS VARVS, Hercules standing to left, holding club and lion skin, (S.498, Cr.494/38, Syd.1140, B.Vibia 26). Attractive dark patina, very fine/good very fine and very scarce.

Ex Noble Numismatics Sale 62, lot 2497 and previously Christie's London, 10 April 1979 (lot 3). Only 30 obverse dies used on this type according to Crawford.
