SEPTIMIUS SEVERUS, (A.D. 193-211), silver denarius, Laodicea mint, issued A.D. 198, (3.22 g), obv. laureate head of Septimius Severus to right, around L SEP SEVERVS PER AVG P M IMP XI, rev. around SALVTI AVGG, Salus seated to left, feeding snake from altar, (S.6363, RIC 497a, RSC 642). Attractively toned with golden highlights, extremely fine and scarce.
