MAXIMIAN, (A.D. 286-305), silver argenteus, Rome Mint, issued A.D. c.294, (3.05 g), obv. laureate head of Maximian to right, around MAXIMI ANVS AVG, rev. around VIRTVS MILITVM, the four tetrarchs sacrificing over lighted tripod before city enclosure with six turrets, plain below, (S.13098, RIC 27b, RSC 622e). Toned, superb extremely fine and rare.
