ANZAC COMMEMORATIVE MEDALLION, in bronze (50x75mm) (C.1915/3) issued in 1967, engraved J.Ferguson, in case of issue. The obverse with oxidation and dark toned, otherwise very fine/uncirculated.

Together with issuing slip, this with a tape residue mark at base, and newspaper funeral service notice.

Jack (birth forenames - John Alexander) Ferguson, labourer, age 18, born at Launceston, Tasmania; Enl.05Jan1915 at Richmond, Tas in 12Bn; Emb.19Apr1915; TOS 12Bn at Gallipoli 16Jun1915; WIA 27Jun1915 GSW chest, Gallipoli; rejoined unit 27Nov1915; WIA 23Jul1916, multiple GSWs, France; RTA 13Feb1917 for 6 months change due to wounds; Disemb.10Apr1917 at Melbourne, Vic; Disch.18Jul1917; commemorated on the Roll of Honour for residents of Bream Creek, Copping & Kellevie who enlisted for service in the Great War, displayed at Copping Hall at Copping, Sorell, Tasmania; Died at Leederville, W.Aust, 28Jul1981 and ashes scattered to the winds at Karrakatta Cemetery as requested; Death Notice - 'Ferguson (Gallipoli Veteran): The funeral of the late Mr John Alexander (Jack) Ferguson of the Kimberley Nursing Home, Leederville is appointed to arrive at the Karrakatta Crematorium Chapel for an Anglican Service at 10.15 o'clock Tomorrow (Thursday) Morning.
