All medals impressed.; Pair: British War Medal 1914-18; Victory Medal 1914-19. 4020 L/Cpl C.Cross. 29 Bn. A.I.F. on first medal, 4020 L-Cpl. C.Cross. 29 Bn. A.I.F. on second medal. Both medals impressed. Display mounted, contact marks, otherwise fine and unusual combination.

First enlistment (Trio): William Charles Cross, railway shunter, age 28, born at Geelong, Vic; Enl.06Jan1915 at Geelong, Vic, in 4Rfts 5Bn; Emb.13Apr1915; to Dardanelles 20May1915; TOS unit at Anzac 27May1915; various hospitalisations for influenza and rheumatism; RTA 29Aug1915 for discharge; Disch.10Feb1916.

Second enlistment (Pair): Charles Cross, railway shunter, age 28, born at Portsmouth, England; showed the same next of kin as on his first enlistment; Enl.27Sep1916 at Geelong, Vic in 10Rfts 29Bn; Emb.21Oct1916; charged with being AWL 23Feb1917 found guilty and forfeited a total of 18 days pay; to France 05Apr1917; TOS unit 12Apr1917; to L/Cpl 19Jun1917; reverts to Pte at own request 06Nov1917; WIA 20Mar1918, severe gas burns, France; to Southwark Military Hospital, England 26Mar1918 with severe gas burns to penis, scrotum, thighs and abdomen; RTA 02Mar1919; Disch.12Jun1919.

William Charles Cross married Elizabeth Davis in 1920. They had one son named Lloyd Keith who died on 25 January 1937 at the age of 16. William Cross died at Geelong, Victoria on 25 October 1948 at the age of 61.
