A70 BALLARAT SURVIVORS ASSOCIATN, badge in bronze and enamel (24x24mm), by Bridgland & King, Melb., pin-back, reverse numbered 268. Extremely fine.

The Australian troop transport ship HMAT A70 Ballarat was sunk on Anzac Day 1917 by a torpedo fired by German submarine UB32 as it approached Devonport in England. Fortunately all Australian troops were able to reach shore safely.
