ANGLO-BOER WAR TRENCH ART, South Africa, ZAR, Kruger silver shillings, the first dated 1897 with obverse finely engraved to add a pipe to President Kruger's mouth and a patterned hat to his head; the second with date altered to 1900 and with obverse finely engraved to add a pipe to President Kruger's mouth and a patterned hat to his head, the reverse with engraved addition to legend of, 'Relief Of Ladysmith' and the centre details removed and engraved, 'XX/Spion/Kop'; the last undated and with obverse finely engraved to add a pipe to President Kruger's mouth and a patterned hat to his head, the reverse design has been removed and engraved with a crowned cross with stars and a central lion all within a wreath (the crest of NSW Military Forces) and at the top, 'N S W', and at the base, 'Citizen Bushman'. Very fine. (3)
