Together with Naval Identity Card No.29820 with photo; H.M.A. Naval Establishments Sydney Permit No.2579 to Lt-Cdr Callow.

Christopher Mervyn Callow, born 12Feb1905 at Forbes, NSW; Appt'd Sub-Lieutenant (on probation) in RANVR 16Feb1939; Enl.27Sep1939 at Home Port of Sydney, NSW; Disch.22Aug1951 as Lieutenant Commander HMAS Gascoyne; Died 08May1989.

During his mobilised wartime service from 27Sep1939 to 29Jan1947 he advanced from Sub-Lieut through to A/Lieut Cdr serving on a variety of ships including HMAS Kapunda (minesweeper) 10Mar1944 to 09Feb1945 in command, HMAS Cairns (minesweeper) 06Aug-10Sep1945 in command and HMAS Gladstone 30Jul1946 to 29Jan1947 in command. Then on 25Jun1947 he was placed in command of HMAS Gascoyne. On 12Feb1963 trf'd to Retired List of Reserve Officers.
