TRIO: Vietnam Medal 1964-73; United Nations Korea Medal 1950-53; South Vietnam Campaign Medal 1964-72. 310871 E.F.Hole. The first two medals impressed but the second medal renamed (see note below), the last medal engraved. Display mounted, very fine.

Note: On the UN Korea Medal there appears to be some naming details right at the edge of the rim and these have been erased, although traces remain, and the medal has then been officially impressed with the above details.

Together with cloth Australian General Service badge for S.E. Asia, cloth badge for Warrant Officer 1st Class, another for Warrant Officer 2nd Class (all these badges unused spares); Returned from Active Service badge (QC), numbered A450799; RSL membership badge (three figure type) (KC), numbered Q40631.

Korea: 310871 Pte Edwin Fisher Hole, RAAOC, born 29Oct1925 at Bristol, Gloucestershire, England; served with 3RAR 25Sep1953 to 27Sep1954.

Vietnam: 310871 WOII Edwin Fisher Hole, RAAOC, served with 2 Advanced Ordnance Depot 24Mar1968 to 25Mar1970.

Edwin Fisher Hole arrived on the S.S. Ranchi in Melbourne, Victoria from England on 12 March 1952. He joined the Australian regular Army and saw service in Korea for a year in 1953/54 qualifying for the UN Korea Medal only as his service started post 27 July 1953. After returning to Australia he was promoted to Corporal and then Sergeant during the 1960s. He then served in Vietnam with 2 Advanced Ordnance Depot as Warrant Officer II.

On returning to Australia he served in the Military Ordnance Depot at Wallangarra near Stanhope in Queensland and in 1971 was posted to the Army Tropical Trials Establishment at Tully in North Queensland. His final posting was to Enoggera Barracks at Brisbane where he was discharged. He died on 9 November 1980 and was buried at the Pinnaroo Lawn Cemetery at Brisbane, Queensland.
