CHINA, Qing dynasty, Hebei Province, Beijing City cavalry pay ingot, silver oval block shaped sycee ingot, one tael sycee or one ounce with one large group of characters on face in an oval area, 27x21x8mm (37.8 g) as described in Cribb, Shun Tian (Beijing) in Chinese Ma kan (horse fodder), and Hui Yuan Zu Yin (Huiyuan Bank pure silver, (Cribb 687 [Pl.57]). Very fine and rare.

This ingot is a military pay ingot for the Beijing cavalry, Cribb illustrates a similar example for three tael or three ounces.
