USA, WORLD'S COLUMBIAN EXPOSITION, Chicago, 1892, in bronze (76mm) by C.E.Barber - U.S.Mint, obverse full length figure of Columbus arriving on the shore of America, reverse, Fame and Science either side of globe above inscription commemorating the four hundredth anniversary of Columbus landing, tablet below reads 'Digby Institute.'. Toned, nearly extremely fine.

The Digby Institute, Bournemouth received this medal for 'Specimens of work from Industrial Institutions affiliated to the Society for Promoting Female Welfare' in the Great Britain section: Models and Specimens of Handicraft Work.
