MACEDON, Kingdom of, Perdikkas III, (365-359 B.C.), AE 16, tetrachalkon, (3.07 g), Aigai mint, obv. head of Herakles in lion skin to right, rev. lion standing right, breaking a javelin with its jaws, above **PERDIK*, (S.1515, Westermark, Kraay-Morkholm Essay, Remarks 47, SNG ANS 114, BMC 3, HGC 3, 839 [R]) (illustrated); together with Antiginos Gonatas, (277-239 B.C.), AE 16, (3.85 g), obv. head of Herakles in lion skin to right, rev. horseman to right, B A above, ATI monogram below, (S.6787, Weber 2196, SNG Cop.1214, HGC 3, 1046 [R]); and Perseus, (179-168 B.C.), AE 24, (6.57 g) obv. head of Perseus in winged Phrygian helmet, with harpa over shoulder, rev. eagle facing with spread wings standing on plough, with monograms each side, (S.6807, AMNG III, 2 [p.196], HGC 3, 1095 [R2]). Dark patination, very fine, all rare - very rare. (3)
