SYRIA, Roman Province of Syria, after Seleucid kingdom of Philip Philadelphos, dated by Caesarean era, issued in 23-2 B.C. (year 27), silver tetradrachm, (14.11 g), Antioch mint, obv. head of Philip to right, with diademed, fillet border, rev. Zeus seated to left, on throne holding Nike, ANT (Antioch) monogram to left, ZK (year 27) in exergue, legends left and right **[B]ASILE[WS] FILIPPO[U] [E]PIFANO[US [F]ILADELFOU]*, (S.7215, Prieur 20, McAlee 21, cf.BMC 7, RPC 4143, HGC 9, 1360r [S]). Very fine and rare, only four coins known to RPC authors.

Ex CNG Sale 49 March 17, 1999 (lot 1043) and from the Livia Hoard. The Livia Hoard (this hoard was published by ANS in American Journal of Numismatics Vol.11 1999 [pp.1-12]) contained another 11 pieces all from four obverse and three reverse dies.
