ANTONINUS PIUS, (A.D. 138-161), AE as, (9.96 g), Rome mint, issued A.D. 143-144, obv. laureate head of Antoninus Pius to right, around ANTONINVS AVG PIVS P P TR P COS III, rev. IMPERATOR II around, S C across, [LIBERT] traces in exergue, Libertas standing to left, holding pileus in left hand and vindicta, (cf.S.4301, RIC 738, BMC 1633). Toned, good very fine portrait, otherwise very fine and rare.
