LYCIA, Masicytes, (Lycian League), Augustus, silver drachm, as coinage of the Lycian League, (28/7 - 19/8 B.C.), (3.13 g), Troxell 120.12b (Same dies obverse and reverse only reported specimen), BMC 37a similar, Sear 97 (100), obv. Bare head of Augustus to right L & Y to left and right of head. rev. Two citheras (lyres), two plectra between and M to left A to right, all within circle, (S.97, Troxell 120.12b [same dies only one reported example], BMC 37a similar). Minor field marks, otherwise nearly very fine and very rare.

Troxell knew of only 129 coins of Augustus struck for Masicytes from 71 obverse and 110 reverse dies.
