BOSPORUS, Kingdom of, Eupator (A.D. 154-172), with Marcus Aurelius and Lucius Verus, (A.D. 138-161), electrum (of good quality gold), stater, issued year 461 = A.D. 164-165, (7.69 g), obv. diademed and draped bust to right of Eupator, around BACI**LEW*C EV**PATOR*OC, within dotted border, rev. bare head draped of Marcus Aurelius to right facing bare head of Lucius Verus to left, star of eight points between, date below A**X*Y = 461, all within dotted border, (cf.S.5471, MacDonald 471/4, Frolova [BAR 56], 22, Pl.XXVII, p.163, dies I/j, BMC 7 [Pl.XVB, 8], SNG Cop.61). Nearly extremely fine and rare.

The date relates to the beginnng of the Pontic era that commenced in October 297 B.C.
