LESBOS, Mytilene, electrum sixth stater or hecte, (450-445 B.C.), (2.41 g), obv. forepart of boar to right, rev. Lion's head to right, within square frame, (cf.S.4243, Bodenstedt 41 [p.225-6, Pl.19, 53, reports 32 specimens known from 5 obverse dies and 5 reverse dies, these dies obv. a, rev. **a*], BMC 31 [Pl.XXXII, 3 same dies], Boston MFA 1684 [same dies], Weber 5607 [same dies], SNG Cop. 309 [same dies]). Nearly very fine and scarce.

Ex Munzen & Medaillen, Deutschland, Auction 9, October 4-5, 2001 (lot 235 illustrated) and previously from Munzen & Medaillen list No.578, August 1994 (No.8, 285 SFr. illustrated).
Type known from various similar types having 5 obverse and 5 reverse dies. 12 examples noted by Bodenstedt from these dies.
