AUGUSTUS, (27 B.C. - A.D. 14), AE brass dupondius, posthumous issue, Rome mint, issued under Caligula, issued A.D. 37-41, (15.14 g), obv. radiate head of Augustus to left, around DIVVS AVGVSTVS, S C across, rev. around CONSENSV SENAT ET EQ ORDIN P Q R, Augustus seated to left on curule chair holding branch, (S.1811, RIC 56, BMC 88, C.87). Light brown with dark fields patination, very fine and rare.
