VESPASIAN, (A.D.69-79), AE sestertius, Rome mint, issued A.D. 71, (24.90 g), obv. IMP CAES VESPAS AVG P M T[R P P P C]OS III, laureate head to right, rev. Mars advancing to right, holding transverse spear and trophy over shoulder, SC across, (cf.S.2335, RIC 447, C.440). Attractive strong portrait good very fine, weak on part of the obverse legend, rare.
