JULIA MAMAEA, mother of Severus Alexander, (A.D.222-235), silver denarius, Rome mint, issued 224, (3.71 g), obv. draped bust to right of Julia Mamaea, IVLIA MA MAEA AVG, rev. FELICITAS PVBLICA around, Felicity standing facing head to left, with legs crossed and leaning left elbow on column, holding caduceus, (S.8209, RIC 335, BMC 483-485, RSC 17). Brilliant, full mint lustre, about uncirculated, scarce.

Ex Dr V.J.A.Flynn Collection and previously from CNG eSale 241, September 29, 2010 (lot 442, realised $320US +), with ticket, noted as coming from the RW Collection with a descriptive ticket from dealer Stephen M. Huston (lot 81).
