GORDIAN II, Africanus, (A.D. 238), silver denarius, Rome mint, issued A.D. March - April 38, (2.74 g), obv. laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Gordian II to right, IMP M ANT GORDIANVS AFR AVG around, rev. Virtus standing to left, with hand on shield, leaning left on spear, around VIRTVS AVGG, (S.8467, RIC 3, RSC 14, BMC 30). Very good - nearly fine, very rare.
