VALENS, (364-378), silver siliqua, Treveri mint, issued c.367-375 (2.25 g), obv. pearl-diademed head of Valens to right, around DN VALEN S PF AVG, rev. VRBS ROMA, Roma seated to left on throne holding spear and Victory on globe, TRPS. in exergue, (S.19675, RIC 27b, RSC.109c). Dark tone, good very fine and scarce.

Ex M.J. Syddell Collection and previously from Gibbons, London, 1975.
