JUSTINIAN I, (527-565), AE follis, Nicomedia mint, (19.43 g), issued year 17 = 543-544, officina B, obv. Justinian bust facing, DN IVSTINI ANVS PP AVC, rev. M, B below, year X/U/II, NIKO in exergue, partial chi-rho (chrismon) monogram above, large thin flan, (S.201, DOC.123b, BMC 201, Hahn 113b.1b). Large flan, with partial earthern patination, otherwise nearly extremely fine and scarce.
Ex M.J. Syddell Collection, previously from Baldwin's London, April 1976 for ?35.
