ITALY, Lucania, Velia, (c.350/340-320/310 B.C.), silver nomos, stater or didrachm, (7.34 g), Period VI, Kleudoros workshop, obv. head of Athena to left, wearing crested Phrygian helmet, ornamented with female centaur, rev. lion standing to left devouring meat, A below, in exergue **TELHTWN*, (cf.S.454, Williams A384, 29 [same dies], HN Italy 1293). Nearly very fine, a scarce mint.
