SICILY, Syracuse, Hieron II, (275-216 B.C.), AE 21, (9.42 g), obv. Poseidon head to left wearing tainia, rev. ornamented trident-head, between two dolphins, dividing IEP **WNOS below, (cf.S.1223, CNS 194; SNG ANS 965, SNG Cop. 854); another issued 263/2-218 B.C., similar AE 19, (6.42 g), (cf.S.1223, Cf.CNS 197, BAR Issue 60; HGC 2, 1550); another reign of Agathokles, (317-285 B.C.), struck 308-7 B.C., AE 22, (8.87 g), obv. head of young male (Herakles) to left, rev. lion prowling to right foreleg raised, club above, (cf.S.1201, BMC 391, Calciati 150 [p.287], HGC 2, 1464). Dark brown patina, mostly very fine, scarce. (3)
