MACEDON, Kingdom of, Philip II, (359-336 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (14.11 g), Amphipolis mint, struck in lifetime, issued c.348/7-343/2 B.C., obv. head of Zeus laureate to right, rev. naked youth or small man (Philip II), on horseback to right, holding palm, bunch of grapes below horse, around **FILIP POU*, (cf.S.6680, Le Rider 250 p.97 and Pl. 33 (obv. D117, rev. R212), M.159, HGC 3, 863 [S]). Toned, nearly very fine and rare.
