MACEDON, Kingdom of, Alexander III, (336-323 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.25 g), Kabyle in Thrace mint, issued 218-200 B.C., obv. head of Herakles to right wearing lion skin, rev. Zeus Aetophoros seated on throne to left, eagle in outstretched hand, **ALEXANDRO[U]* to left, **BASILEW[S] to right, KEP above Artemis Phosphoros standing facing; below throne, **DH* above ZO**S*, (cf.S.6713, Price 885, Draganov 901-2, HGC 7, 481). Compact flan, very fine, toned, flatly struck in a few spots, a very rare mint.
