MACEDON, Kingdom of, Alexander III (the Great), (336-323 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.13 g), Alabanda mint, issued c.188-173 B.C., obv. head of Herakles to right, with lion skin, rev. Zeus seated to left, eagle in outstretched hand, to right **[A]LEXANDR[OU]*, to left under arm Pegasus to left, below throne caduceus and monogram MAB, countermarked with bust of Tyche on obverse, (cf.S.6713, Meadows, Alabanda, Series 3.2, Group 1, Price 2455, HN Online 554, M.1150). Large flan, toned and nearly very fine.
