OCTAVIAN AND JULIUS CAESAR, (assassinated 44 B.C.), AE sestertius or dupondius, South Italy mint (possibly Puteoli), struck 38 B.C., (20.89 g), obv. head of Octavian to right, DIVI.F to right, star of eight rays before, rev. DIVOS / IVLIVS in two lines within a laurel wreath, (S.1570, RPC 621, Cr.535/2, CRI 309, BMC 108, Syd. 1336, RBW 1822). Dark green patina, minor chip on edge, otherwise nearly very and rare.
