PONTIF MAXIM TRIBVN POT XXXIIII around large SC, (S.1689, RIC 471, C.226 variety, CBN 883); Claudius, (A.D. 41-54), AE As, Rome mint, issued 41-42, (11.00 g), obv. bare head to left, around TI CLAVDIVS CAESAR AVG P M TR P IMP, rev. Minerva to right, helmeted and draped, hurling javelin and holding shield, SC in field, (S.1861, RIC 100, BMC 149, C.57) (illustrated). Fine - very fine, last with some green oxidation on the reverse. (2)
